Nicole Scherzinger "number one target" for Andrew Lloyd Webber show

Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber has asked Nicole Scherzinger to be a judge on his new TV programme Superstar, according to reports. The musical composer, who has previously found leads for his West End shows Oliver!, The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music and Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat through reality TV talent competitions, is now searching for someone to play the title role in Jesus Christ Superstar. He reportedly wants X Factor USA judge Scherzinger to help him with the casting by joining the show's panel. A source told The Sun: "Andrew is obsessed with Nicole - he thinks the world of her. As soon as he got the nod his new show was going to happen, Nicole was his number one target. He's got a great working relationship with her and Nicole hugely respects his work." Although Lord Lloyd Webber ended his association with the BBC after his other competitions, he is continuing the show's format on ITV. Steve Balsamo, who starred in the 1990s production of Jesus Christ Superstar, has already been confirmed as one of the judges on Superstar. Last month, Lord Lloyd Webber asked Scherzinger to perform a song from Phantom of the Opera on the Royal Variety Show and is also believed to have cast her as Mary Magdalene in a movie version of Jesus Christ Superstar. A (late!) Happy New Year everybody!

As announced, here the late Happy New Year message! I had a lovely week in Portugal thanks for asking, the weather was lovely all week and I even produced a bit of a tan (and I'm like a milk bottle). I hope everybody has made the best wishes for themselves to get the best out of this new year, see it as a new chance to improve your life and make the decisions you feel are right. Remember there's no harm in wrong decisions - one can only learn from them! I speak from experience On the site news, well, it's all been rather quiet as far as Nicole's concerned I'm afraid. I am delighted to announce that it seems Nicole and Lewis have spend Christmas together so it seems they are back together (again). Let's hope 2012 brings them better things then whatever made them break up in 2011! As for Kimberly, Melody, Jessica, Ashley and also Carmit, I must admit I haven't been the best updater as far as they are concerned. Of course Carmit had her baby so I don't think she's been up to much, and it all still seems a little bit vague to me what the others are trying to persue. I'm mainly a Nicole fan now so that's where my interest is bound to be. I hope you can give me feedback on this and perhaps help me out in news I could post for them, afterall we are PCDWorld and not NicoleWorld as some have cynically said to me! I always read the mentions on Twitter - @pcdworld - and of course our forums remain a crowded place with loads of 'old school' PCD fans! You can also send an e-mail which you can find by clicking the 'About PCDWorld' bar I hope you'll keep visiting the site - we've 'lost' Emily some time ago now and to this day we haven't heard from her. She's done a lot - and I mean a LOT - for this site along with Matt as well of course. Now it's mainly just me updating and Matt helping out with recording UK shows sometimes, we'll continue to provide you with the latest news, pictures and videos and I'll try to improve on updating on all of the PCD girls this year too! Nicole singing the Phantom Of The Opera

Funny thing they played the movie of this last night on Dutch TV! The version on there is definitely different to what Nicole did but I'm glad she made it her own and didn't copy the original... I believe to remember Nicole went to the musical of this with Lewis as well some time earlier this year? Either way ... As my previous video of this wasn't of spectacular quality - well compared to the HD of "Try With Me" nothing's really great, we set our standards way too high ... - here's an SD quality video thanks to snoop on YouTube! Here's just a little note that I will be on a holiday to Portugal *cheers* from tomorrow for a week... So I will now wish everybody on here a short Happy New Year and I'll make sure to get up something bigger when I get back next week!

We'd like to wish all of our site visitors a Merry Christmas - tonight is Christmas Eve and then we've got 2 more days to celebrate. Also to those not celebrating Christmas I hope you'll still have a great time - personally for me it's just a great moment to spend time with family as everybody's off for the holidays, and let's not forget to eat some great food! I thought this would be a nice time to look back at those good old PCD days, here's a performance of "I Hate This Part" on former UK show Top Of The Pops: Christmas Special.

The Royal Variety Performances 2011, X Factor Results Semi-Finals & Jimmy Kimmel

Here's a couple of extras... Firstly, thanks to anthony_x3 in the forums for pointing out to me that Nicole reappeared on The Royal Variety Performances at the end of the show in the hands of Barry Manilow, you can view the rest of the Nicole bits on the YouTube video below: Secondly, I have now uploaded an HD video of the "Pretty" performance Nicole did on The X Factor Results show this week of the Semi-Finals. I'm also delighted to say that Josh - Nicole's remaining contestant - is through to the Finals to fight for the top spot. It's now fully up to America who's going to be the winner of the show, he's up against some tough competition but if we all stick together and VOTE VOTE VOTE he can do it! I'll make sure to get up a post with ways to vote after the Live Shows of next week... Until then, play it over and over, here's Nicole's performance of "Pretty" on The X Factor USA in glorious High Definition quality! Nicole performs "Try With Me" on the Royal Variety

As you may know, just over a week ago now @NicoleScherzy performed for the Royal Variety Performances. She performed her own song 'Try With Me" and also sang opera with The Phantom of the Opera. Unfortunately Matt hasn't been able to get the latter of the 2, but you can enjoy her gorgeous performance of "Try With Me" below.
